Engineering that
gets built.

MFA Engineering & Consulting is a professional engineering practice. We analyze, design, document, inspect and certify — and we carry the work through approval and construction. One practice, from the first calculation to the final sign-off.

The practice

Licensed engineering first. Everything else follows from it.

The practice is built around professional engineering — analysis, design, inspection, forensic investigation and sealed certification. Permitting and project management sit alongside that work rather than in place of it.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A permit expediter can file your application but cannot seal a drawing. An architect designs, then brings in an outside engineer for the structural work. Here the analysis, the sealed drawings and the filing are done by the same licensed engineer — so nothing waits on a third party, and the person answering the plan examiner is the person who ran the calculations.

About the practice

In practice

  • Engineering, drawings and filings handled together, not passed between firms
  • Sets prepared for the specific department that will review them
  • One point of contact from the first calculation to the final sign-off
  • Covering every town on Long Island and all five boroughs

How we work

Design decisions made against the approval path.

Buildability and approvability are engineering constraints, not afterthoughts. Working them into the design is what keeps a set from coming back in objection.

Engineering-led

Analysis and design come first. Drawings are produced to be built from, not just filed.

Single accountability

One party responsible from concept through sign-off. Nothing gets lost at a handoff.

Jurisdiction-specific

Each department has its own format and recurring objections. Sets are prepared accordingly.

For investors and buyers

Know what is on the record before you commit.

A property file review pulls the municipal record and reports what is actually there — open permits, missing certificates, violations, and work that was never filed. It is a records and compliance exercise, turned around in days.

A property under contract costs taxes, insurance, utilities and interest every day it sits. An issue found before signing is a negotiating position. The same issue found after closing is simply yours.
